Professional photographer Tiffany Warner shares a simple technique to make your images more interesting.
This image of Camel’s Hump was taken from the racetrack at Hanging Rock Reserve.
Rather than simply zooming in on the hump, I held my phone in a portrait position to capture the track and Mt Macedon. In composing the shot, I employed the Rule of Thirds.
The Rule of Thirds is a popular technique for achieving an interesting photograph. I positioned my subject, Camel’s Hump, approximately one-third of the way from the top.
This method can also be applied when photographing in landscape orientation; simply position your subject about one-third of the way from the left or right of the image.
๐ก Tip: Think about the Rule of Thirds when framing your next photograph.
Happy snapping!
