As part of a series on smartphone photography, professional photographer Tiffany Warner explains how you can find beauty in puddles.
๐ Lions Head Rd, Mount Macedon
Wet weather is a great time to take photos. Catching raindrops, hail, or snow is a lot of fun, but have you ever tried capturing reflections in puddles?
Find a decent-sized puddle to reflect the scene you want to share. You can try this in the city with buildings; the results can be quite striking.
Get down low to the ground and point your phone’s camera lens towards the water. Watch the reflection appear, and tilt the phone until you have captured your vision.
In my example, I wanted to show the enormity of the trees in the fog against the cars, which look almost like toys.
๐ก Tip: Get down low, put your camera close to the water and point it towards your scene.
Happy snapping!
