How am I doing?
Your Macedon Ranges is researched, written, and edited by me alone. Compiling it takes me 10+ hours each week. I love doing it, and the response has been incredible. I’m very grateful for your kind words.
If you find value in the newsletter, I’d so appreciate you subsidising my coffee habit … it helps with the collating and the writing!

FLOWERS
Professional photographer Tiffany Warner shares a technique to help you capture the beauty of flowers with your smartphone.
📍 Viewfield, 651 Mount Macedon Rd, Mount Macedon
Flowers are wonderful subjects to practise your photography skills on. I often find myself in the garden playing with different shades of light or experimenting with new angles.
Photographing flowers is not the easiest task, as capturing their full beauty in a single image can be challenging.
One of my favourite techniques is to position myself above flowers and shoot directly down into them. This method allows you to appreciate the full shape of a flower when it’s in bloom.
In this image, I have also gone in close to show the details and water droplets on the leaves, adding an extra layer of interest. Additionally, I’ve used my phone’s Portrait Mode to make the flowers stand out against the background.
💡 Tip: Experiment by positioning yourself above flowers and looking down into them for a different perspective.
Happy snapping!
