🌷 The grounds of Camelot, in Mount Macedon, will be opened to the public for the first time in the estate’s 139 years next month. The property was established by Carl Ludwig Pinschof, the Melbourne consul for Austria-Hungary, and his wife, the opera singer Elise Wiedermann. They hired Melbourne’s leading designer of the time, William Sangster, to plan the garden (links to a video tour). The present house was built after the Ash Wednesday fires of 1983.
🌏 The Changemakers Macedon Ranges sustainability festival will run until Sunday, with workshops on gardening, zero-waste cooking, energy efficiency, and more. Click here for the full program.

FLOWERS
Professional photographer Tiffany Warner demonstrates an alternative approach to capturing flowers.
📍 Viewfield, 651 Mount Macedon Rd, Mount Macedon
Flowers are wonderful subjects to practise your photography skills on. I often find myself in the garden playing with different shades of light or experimenting with new angles.
Photographing flowers is not the easiest task, as capturing their full beauty in a single image can be challenging.
One of my favourite techniques is to position myself above flowers and shoot directly down into them. This method allows you to appreciate the full shape of a flower when it’s in bloom.
In the image, I have also gone in close to show the details and water droplets on the leaves, adding an extra layer of interest. Additionally, I’ve used my phone’s Portrait Mode to make the flowers stand out against the background.
💡 Tip: Experiment by positioning yourself above flowers and looking down into them for a different perspective.
