š¶ Over the past 10 years, Macedon Ranges Music Festival has grown from a backyard event in Gisborne to a big day out at Hanging Rock. Joe Camilleri and The Black Sorrows will be headlining this year’s event, on Saturday. Also for music lovers, the Festival of Small Halls will come to Glenlyon on Friday night.
šŗ The Real Gardens of Lyonville have been manicured and are ready to dazzle on Sunday. Julian Blackhirst, head gardener at the Diggers Club’s Garden of St Erth, garden designer Kaz Krasovskis, and native plant expert David Bruce will be among the speakers. Author Talk Paul Burke – The Enterprising Thomas Fitzsimmons of Woodend: Thomas Fitzsimmons was an irrepressible character who lived in Woodend from 1852-72 and ran the Sydney Hotel (now Holgate Brewhouse). š¤ GISBORNE SOUTH: The former home of Evermore frontman Jon Hume – complete with recording studio – is on the market. Delta Goodrem, Shannon Noll and Tina Arena are among the stars to have recorded there.
šļø GISBORNE: Councillors have voted unanimously to reject plans for a 700-lot development in Ross Watt Rd. But VCAT could yet overturn the decision. The tribunal will consider the application this month.
š KERRIE: Cotton On co-founder Ash Hardwick and former Racing Victoria chairman David Moodie are selling their Macedon Ranges horse stud. They are hoping to get more than $20m for Breeders Farm.
