🌷 Michael McCoy, host of ABC TV’s Dream Gardens and a Macedon Ranges local, is running an online gardening symposium next month. The incredible list of contributors includes Gardening Australia regular Sophie Thomson and world-renowned experts Fergus Garrett, of Great Dixter, and Professor Cassian Schmidt, of Hermannshof, in Germany. 🍂 MOUNT MACEDON: Mount Macedon is a finalist in the Tiny Tourism Town category of the Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards. (Let’s hope the awards announcer can say that tongue-twister correctly!) Mount Macedon is up against Aireys Inlet, Fingal, Flinders, Noojee and Timboon. You can vote here (until May 31).

💇 MACEDON RANGES: A campaign is promoting barber shops in the Macedon Ranges as a safe space for men to talk openly about what is going on in their lives. (The Age)
🪚 GISBORNE: Gisborne Men’s Shed has earned the title of Best Men’s Shed in Australia. Its members were commended for running a “virtual shed” to stay connected during the pandemic.
🥬 MACEDON RANGES: Woodend’s Cafe Paysanne has been named as the winner of the Edgy Veg Awards for its sauteed cauliflower.
🏇 KYNETON: Oops! Jockey Michael Poy got the distance wrong and raced for the finish line a lap early at Kyneton on Monday. Thinking he’d won, he then eased the horse down. After realising his mistake, Poy rejoined the field and managed to finish eighth out of the eleven in the race.
