Welcome to Your Macedon Ranges for Monday, November 28, to Sunday, December 4.
🎶 The first doors on Advent calendars are about to be peeled open, and the carol-singing season is about to begin. On Saturday, there will be “carols by candlelight” at the Steam Park in New Gisborne and a Christmas party with carols at DV Cider, in Darraweit Guim. On Sunday, there will be another “carols by candlelight”, this time at Dixon Field in Gisborne. In Romsey, there will be a carol event the following Saturday (Dec 10) at the Lions Park Reserve. In addition to carol singing, the events will have food and drink and other activities.

How am I doing?
Your Macedon Ranges is researched, written, and edited by me alone. Compiling it takes me 10+ hours each week. I love doing it, and the response has been incredible. I’m very grateful for your kind words.
If you find value in the newsletter, I’d so appreciate you subsidising my coffee habit … it helps with the collating and the writing!
In the news
🚗 WOODEND: Design work has begun on an upgrade to one of Woodend’s most complained-about intersections, but the shire council’s assets and operations director, Shane Walden, said long lead times meant the High St junction near Coles had been listed as a “medium-term” priority.
✋ MACEDON RANGES: Annette Death has been elected as the shire’s new mayor. Jennifer Anderson was elected as her deputy.
🛹 GISBORNE: Plans to revamp the skate park have been published. A community feedback session will be held at the skate park, in Hamilton St, on Saturday (10am-11am). Submissions close on December 16.
