How am I doing?
Your Macedon Ranges is researched, written, and edited by me alone. Compiling it takes me 10+ hours each week. I love doing it, and the response has been incredible. I’m very grateful for your kind words.
If you find value in the newsletter, I’d so appreciate you subsidising my coffee habit … it helps with the collating and the writing!

BankSIA ROSES
Professional photographer Tiffany Warner explains how you can capture beautiful Banksia roses.
The Banksia rose was named after botanist Sir Joseph Banks. This gorgeous climbing rose has delicate lemon-coloured baby rose blooms. Although it originated in China it is quite prolific here in the Macedon Ranges and you will see it cascading over fences in spring.
The Banksia rose is also a great subject to photograph. For this image I put my mobile phone camera into Portrait mode to get a detailed view of the flowers and make them pop out from the background. Put about 20cm between the phone and the flowers. If you’re too close the flowers will become blurry.
đź’ˇ Tip: Get up as close as you can before the picture blurs and wait a few seconds for your camera to focus properly.
Happy snapping!
Tiffany
đź“· In addition to portrait and commercial work, Tiffany Warner runs short courses on smartphone photography for social media. See more of her images on Instagram.
