Welcome to Your Macedon Ranges for Monday, October 24, to Sunday, October 30.
🏡 Have you ever wondered about the history of your home, or thought about researching your family tree? If so, then HistoryFest may be of interest. Two distinguished historians from the University of Melbourne – Dr Peter Yule and Dr Richard Trembath – will discuss their experience of researching and writing local history. And representatives of historical societies from across central Victoria will talk about their latest books as well as the challenges and triumphs of locating relevant research. HistoryFest will take place in Lancefield on November 6.
🛍️ Hanging Rock Craft Market, which was due to be held on Saturday, has been cancelled. The next market is scheduled for December 10.
🎃 It’s the fifth Saturday of the month, which means Macedon Farmers’ Market will be on. And with Halloween a couple of days away, the market organisers are promising it will be a spooky occasion. The following Monday (Oct 31), witches, wizards, ghouls and ghosts will be out in force at the Community Halloween Party at Woodend Children’s Park. Fingers crossed that they can cast a spell to keep the rain away.

How am I doing?
Your Macedon Ranges is researched, written, and edited by me alone. Compiling it takes me 10+ hours each week. I love doing it, and the response has been incredible. I’m very grateful for your kind words.
If you find value in the newsletter, I’d so appreciate you subsidising my coffee habit … it helps with the collating and the writing!
