🪓 It’s just over a month until the first of the Macedon Ranges’ two agricultural shows. Lancefield Show will take place on October 16. The show has just published its program, and tickets are now on sale.
🐦 Several events are taking place this week to celebrate our natural environment. Damon Gameau, who directed and starred in the documentary That Sugar Film, will be talking about habitat renewal in Trentham on Saturday. Two Great Vic Nature Walks will be taking place locally on Sunday, at the Campaspe River in Kyneton and on Mount Macedon, as part of the two-week Victoria Nature Festival. And if you’d like to find out more about the birds of the Macedon Ranges, join Mark Buckby in Gisborne on Sunday.

Talk Fred Gammie – Ukraine and Russia: Fred was based in Ukraine for work from 2013 to 2018, and in 2014 he witnessed the first Russian tanks rolling into Donetsk. In the news
⛽ CARLSRUHE: Major upgrade works to the BP roadhouse are expected to begin late this year or early next year. The developer said he was close to an agreement over who would operate the three fast-food outlets.
🚌 ROMSEY/LANCEFIELD: New weekend bus services will connect Lancefield and Romsey with Sunbury, Gisborne and Kyneton from October.
🔋 WOODEND: Plans for a renewable energy park have been put on hold. Macedon Ranges Sustainability Group president David Gormley-O’Brien said a letter from the state government “effectively spells the end of a community dream”.
🚄 GISBORNE: The number of car-parking spaces at Gisborne station will be reduced from 150 to 68 from Thursday night until Sunday. Coaches will replace trains between Gisborne and Southern Cross on Saturday and Sunday.
