Welcome to Your Macedon Ranges for Monday, September 25, to Sunday, October 1.
🐗 Lancefield Show will be making a comeback on October 15 after a three-year absence. And on the same weekend, the Lancefield Megafauna Festival will be returning.
🎭 If you’re a theatre lover, three productions to note will be hitting the stage soon. The Wiz – a musical based on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz – will open in Kyneton on Friday. That will be followed by Columbo: Prescription Murder (Kyneton, October 20-29) and Peter Pan: A Musical Adventure (Macedon, November 3-26).
📷 In this week’s article on smartphone photography, Tiffany Warner shows us how we can capture spring in the gardens at Forest Glade. Check out her article below the event listing.

How am I doing?
Your Macedon Ranges is researched, written, and edited by me alone. Compiling it takes me 10+ hours each week. I love doing it, and the response has been incredible. I’m very grateful for your kind words.
If you find value in the newsletter, I’d so appreciate you subsidising my coffee habit … it helps with the collating and the writing!

forest glade gardens
As part of a series on smartphone photography, professional photographer Tiffany Warner explains how you can capture the glorious gardens at Forest Glade.
📍 Forest Glade Gardens, 816 Mount Macedon Rd, Mount Macedon
The smell of spring is in the air at Forest Glade, the flowers are blooming and the native birds are in abundance. The garden is open from 10am ($10 for adults) and last entry is at 4.30pm. Be prepared to spend at least half a day here if you want to enjoy the full experience and explore the whole 14 acres.
It’s the perfect playground to take photographs, and in my featured image this week I have incorporated leading lines and textures. This makes the photo interesting because your eye is drawn to the stone path and the steps. I also love the pop of colour from the rhododendron.
💡 Tip: To enhance texture of foliage (or, in this case, the stone path), adjust the Definition/Texture setting on an iPhone when editing your photo in Edit mode. There’s also a photo editing app for smartphones called Snapseed, which enables you to achieve similar results with its Detail setting.
Happy snapping!
Tiffany
📷 In addition to portrait and commercial work, Tiffany Warner runs short courses on smartphone photography for social media. Find out more, and see her images, on her website and on Instagram.
