Welcome to Your Macedon Ranges for Monday, August 29, to Sunday, September 4.
📖 Peter FitzSimons will be visiting Gisborne on November 11 to discuss his new book, The Battle of Long Tan. Click here if you’d like to go along.
🐶 Recent knee surgery means my dog Alfie won’t be lining up in Kyneton Daffodil Festival’s dog dash on Sunday. (In any case, he normally only dashes when he sees the postie!) The dog dash is one of many events and exhibitions being held as part of the Daffodil Festival. You’ll see them listed below, tagged “Daffodil”, and you can find the full festival program here. Many gardens will also be open. Click here for a map of all the gardens. And, of course, keep your eyes peeled around Kyneton for scarecrows!
🏡 Seymour Cottage, one of the oldest houses in Romsey, will be hosting a Father’s Day family fair on Sunday. Enjoy live music, food, wine, children’s activities, a plant sale, and community stalls. Horticulturalist Fiona Webber, of John Patrick Landscape Architects, will talk at 12pm about her recent study of the gardens at Seymour Cottage. And at 2pm, historian Guy Murphy will discuss the history of the cottage.
✒️ Weekend and day passes for the Mountain Writers Festival will go on sale on September 5. The festival will be held in Macedon from November 4-6. Tickets for single sessions will go on sale on September 20, subject to availability.
